Village markets
 
Almost every village in Umbria has a weekly market.
Some trucks pull up in the morning, build their stalls, open their big umbrellas, show their goods and create the market. There are stalls selling clothes,shoes, fruits and vegetables, fresh fish, flowers and plants, cooking supplies etc. and the usual truck with a big cooked pig on display (porchetta) where you get tasty sandwiches.
At midday vendors close their stalls, load the goods on their trucks ready for another market in another place the day after.
On Monday the market is held in Marsciano, on Tuesday in Foligno, Gubbio and Bettona, on Wednesday in Bastardo and Terni, on Thursday in Spello, Ponte San Giovanni and Gualdo Tadino, on Friday in Bastia Umbra, Trevi and Spoleto, on Saturday in Assisi, Foligno and Perugia Pian di Massiano.
